ITP (Intelligence Tracking Protection) is an upcoming feature of MacOS 10.14 Mojave. The feature is designed to make Apple users using the Safari browser less individually identifiable by restricting the broadcast of certain identifying features of the browser and operating system. This is to combat the process known as ‘Digital Fingerprinting’ which seeks to create a profile on particular users without setting cookies in the browser.
Part of ITP is also the restriction of third party cookies in the Safari browser.
ITP and Call Tracking
Delacon’s call tracking solution does not rely on digital fingerprinting nor does it use third party cookies. Therefore, Delacon’s call tracking solution will not be affected by the upcoming introduction of ITP.
It is also worth noting that ITP will only affect MacOS 10.14 Mojave users who also use the Safari web browser.
